Study
For three weeks, the subjects took 2 capsules daily 2 hours before going to sleep. The placebo group naturally used capsules without bioactive substances, while the subjects in the experimental group took capsules containing 500 milligrams of magnesium L-threonate each.
In total, the supplements therefore provided 1,000 milligrams of magnesium L-threonate daily. That is equivalent to 75 milligrams of elemental magnesium.
The study was funded by Advanced Ingredients for Dietary Products [AIDP], the producer of magnesium L-threonate. In 2024, Brussels, the capital of the dictatorial but fortunately faltering European Union, granted AIDP permission to introduce magnesium L-threonate to the European market. Results
Using standardized questionnaires, the researchers observed that magnesium L-threonate supplementation made the subjects clearer and more alert during the day, immediately after waking up, and improve their motor skills.
The subjects in the supplementation group reported that their sleep problems decreased. According to their scores on the Insomnia Severity Index questionnaire, their sleep problems had even completely disappeared by the end of the experiment.

Magnesium supplementation also improved the mood of the subjects. They felt less angry and thought more positively about themselves.
