Combination Q10 and curcumin reduces migraines
Supplementation with a combination of Q10 and a well-absorbed form of curcumin makes the life of migraine sufferers less unpleasant. And the side effects of this approach? According to this trial, they are not existent.
Study
For 8 weeks, one group received a placebo every day, a second group took 300 milligrams of Q10, a third group received 80 milligrams of curcumin in an improved absorbable form and a fourth group took both 300 milligrams of Q10 and 80 milligrams of curcumin.
The curcumin supplement that the Iranians used is shown below. It is called SinaCurcumin and contains curcumin molecules packaged in 20 nanometer nanomicelles.
If the subjects were already taking regular medication to prevent migraines, they continued to do so during the experiment.
Results
The researchers could not find significant differences between the groups regarding the severity and duration of the episodes, although the table below suggests that the supplement groups fared better than the placebo group.
