Only strong athletes get stronger through shilajit supplementation
If you work out with weights and are able to develop a relatively high amount of strength, then a daily dose of 500 milligrams of shilajit can bring your workouts to a higher level. This may be because shilajit strengthens the collagen structures in the muscles.
Study
The researchers divided 63 male students into 3 groups. The men in a control group took a placebo every day for 8 weeks, while the men in 2 experimental groups took 250 and 500 milligrams of shilajit, respectively. Of course, the researchers used a preparation from sponsor Natreon.
Results
The figure below perhaps illustrates how exactly shilajit reduces strength decline during exercise sessions. It shows the difference between the concentration of hydroxyproline in the blood before the supplementation period and afterwards.
Incidentally, here too the researchers only looked at the 50 percent of the subjects with the highest hydroxyproline level.
Hydroxyproline is a building block of collagen structures. A low hydroxyproline level may indicate anabolic processes in connective tissues.
