Yes, the research that researchers at the University of Nebraska published in 2019 in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition was sponsored. It was paid for by Natreon Incorporated, [natreoninc.com] the producer of the shilajit preparation PrimaVie.

The researchers divided 63 male students into 3 groups. The men in a control group took a placebo every day for 8 weeks, while the men in 2 experimental groups took 250 and 500 milligrams of shilajit, respectively. Of course, the researchers used a preparation from sponsor Natreon.

Just before and at the end of the supplementation period, the subjects had to make leg extensions to failure. Before and just after this session, the researchers determined how much strength the subjects could develop during leg extensions.

Results
The researchers found no statistically significant effects on the reduction in strength due to supplementation. However, when they looked only at the 50 percent of men with the greatest strength, they did find a significant effect.
